Paola is an Italian architect. Following her graduation in Florence, she moved to Dublin and then to London to work for what she thought was going to be “a limited period of time”. In a couple of years she realized her adventure in foreign countries could not be close to an end yet. After having experienced the joy and the pain of working abroad and while Europe was in the middle of the “economic crunch”, she decided to catch a long wave that took her to the Australian shores. Paola has lived and worked in Melbourne since 2009. She contributes to the column Curiocity, a series of articles on the architectural scene in Melbourne.
When not exploring the city, visiting or photograph ing new buildings, she can be found sipping a skinny latte or eating brunch in one of the numerous cafes or having a pizza in a truly-Italian pizzeria. As all Melbournians know, there is always a hidden café to discover or a new restaurant to try.
